Chamber Strings Deadline Friday 20th!

Happy Tuesday String Players, I am reminding everyone who is planning on attending this year that the final deadline for Chamber Strings is this Friday, May 20th! Visit the website for details at www.mountainsidechambermusic.com CELLO FOCUS: June 10-12, 2022 Baroque Cello Intensive Cellist Jeff Faragher will be joined with baroque cellist Josephine Van Lier from Edmonton for an engaging and explorative Baroque journey of listening, learning and playing together. CHAMBER STRINGS: July 11-15, 2022 Our Violin and Cello Concerto programs have been a great success for the past 2 years and this year we are happy to announce that the Viola players will have a chance to audition for the 4th movement of the Telemann Viola Concerto! Join us for a week of music making with daily orchestra, sectionals, chamber groups and 1 private lesson per person. There will be special evening events such as a Faculty Concert and a fiddling fun evening.

We have already selected the music for orchestra this year which includes the Telemann Viola Concerto (4th Movement), Sibelius Impromptu no.5, and Vivaldi La Folia. Check out the sheet music on the website! You can have a listen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3x0r69SuW0Y (Sibelius Impromptu no.5) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4qePY2Wdss (Vivaldi La Folia) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mAFYC0JrU0 (Telemann Viola Concerto, 4th mvt)

Smaller Chamber Groups will be set up once all registrations are in and then the music will be sent out within 5-10 days.

ACCOMMODATION: Contact www.dancingbearinn.com for inexpensive, clean AND quiet accommodation (walking distance to church where camp is held). Contact them sooner rather than later! NOTE: There are 2 female registrants that have each rented a twin room with bunk beds and are willing to share the room with another registrant.

If you have any questions, please contact Sue Mistretta (Administrator) by email at mountainsidechambermusic@gmail.com or phone 250-777-1704.

Let us all anticipate that the programs will run as expected. Any modifications due to Covid will be announced in advance and refunds or credit will be applied if cancellations need to happen. For now, lets keep our vision for 2022 clear and optimistic! Sincerely, Sue Mistretta. Administrator
